Now that all the gifts are open and the thank you cards are half done, I can officially write about the wedding gift registry. I went to the WeddingWire forum a ton for registry questions, and I learned that not a lot of brides answered questions on that forum once their wedding was over. So I made a note to myself to gather as much data as possible (I felt bad keeping track of all this data because it seemed greedy). I added a link below to my registries, so anyone interested can see what type of items I registered for vs. what ended up being purchased. Here's a summary:
We had a good mix of low and high income guests at our wedding (my family has a lot of farmers and his family has a lot of doctors). Cash gifts ranged from $x to $x. We lived together in college, so we had everything we needed, but we got it all from Goodwill. Our wedding gave our apartment a complete makeover and we had a fresh-start. Gifts that were bought ranged from $x to $x. Some people who couldn't come even bought us a gift! 95% of people sent the physical gift through the mail. We did have a cards and gifts table, but this was so amazing as there weren't many we had to lug home after the wedding. Thank goodness for technology.
